When Valentines Day comes around at our house I usually make a fun meal and cute treats, but I wish I would do something more handmade. I remember waking up on Valentines morning, my mom had a special homemade valentine for each of us on the nicely set breakfast table. It was a beautiful gesture, made a memory for me, and I want to pass that on.
Now, NOTHING CRAZY, ok? I don’t have the time to even do a Pinterest search, or want to spend much at all, but just a little something for my family, and maybe my friends, school teachers, or the secretary on Eric’s floor.
Last year we were shopping at Michael’s and saw these little berry baskets, Eva had a blast painting them one afternoon, I loved the creative diversion, and then we attached some ribbon, (also found it at Michael’s) and BAM!
This year I went back to get more baskets, and they had them already in different colors, I added ribbon and yarn from home to make a handle, and then we’ll fill them up with yummy chocolate dipped treats. (Coming to you on Friday).
Maybe this year you can fold a piece of construction paper in half and add a heart doily, or add cut out hearts to your mirror, telling your husband how you love him. We can make memories without the Art Degree, we can make memories out of love.
